Intel 11th-generation CPU and RTX 30-series graphics? It wouldn’t be too surprising if the Book 4 just ends up with slimmer bezels, as the Pro 8 did. It still allowed room for a GPU in the base of the keyboard, so if Microsoft wanted to refresh the Surface Book without changing the design, it could stick to tradition. There was nothing wrong with the Surface Book design, though. It also adds more modes of use to the device, such as Stage Mode, Studio Mode, and standard laptop mode. Thisclears space for more powerful components (like an RTX 3050 Ti GPU) to make the Book 4 more of a MacBook Pro competitor. The reason why is that this new design allows Microsoft to leave more room for the GPU, CPU, and other parts at the bottom “bump” of the device.
If a Surface Book 4 were to be announced, we think it could be a lot like the Studio. While the detachable screen on the Surface Book was a revolutionary idea when initially was announced, Microsoft now seems to have swapped that in favor of the new “floating” design of the Laptop Studio. A new design?Įven though the Surface Book 4 might be as good as dead, we still want to speculate on what a potential product like that might end up looking like. The new Surface Laptop Studio starts at $1,600, so if a Book 4 were to be released, it probably would come at a hefty price. If Microsoft were to have a change of heart and it were to be released, though, we’d consider that the pricing would be well over the $1,500 range. That said, we don’t think the Surface Book 4 will ever be released. This is backed by Windows Central’s Zac Bowden, who mentioned that Microsoft said the Laptop Studio is a replacement and successor to the Surface Book line. This is Microsoft’s new “all-powerful” Surface, so many technology enthusiasts and tech reviewers have mentioned that the Laptop Studio “replaces” the Book 3, which was last released in May 2020.
